VIDEO POKER PALEV TRAINER

Why video poker?

One of the very few casino games where skill genuinely moves the needle — and where the math can sit on your side.

01  WHY IT IS WORTH LEARNING
99.54%
Best returns on the floor
Full-pay 9/6 Jacks or Better returns 99.54% with perfect play — and 10/7 Double Bonus tops 100%, a rare player edge over the house.
You
Skill actually matters
Every hand is a solvable puzzle. Learn the strategy and you capture the full return; guess, and you quietly leak it away.
Calm, solo, your pace
No dealer, no table pressure. Small steady swings with the occasional royal-flush jackpot — play as fast or slow as you like.
02  HOW A HAND WORKS
1Bet up to 5 credits, then you are dealt 5 cards.
2Choose which of the 5 cards to hold.
3The cards you discard are replaced on the draw.
4Your final five-card hand is paid according to the paytable.
5Always bet 5 (max) — the royal flush only pays its big bonus at max bet.
ONE HAND, STEP BY STEP
1
The deal
You bet 5 credits and receive five cards. Say you get this:
Q♥Q♠7♦3♣9♠
2
Hold = keep
“Holding” a card means keeping it. A pair of Queens already pays, so keep both — tap them or press their keys:
Q♥Q♠7♦3♣9♠
3
Draw = swap the rest
Press Space. The three cards you didn’t hold are swapped for new ones from the deck — lucky you, a third Queen:
Q♥Q♠Q♦K♣2♥
4
Get paid, then learn
Three of a kind pays 3× your bet — 15 credits back. Then the trainer shows whether keeping the Queens really was the best play, and exactly what it cost if not.
03  THE PAYTABLE IS EVERYTHING

A machine’s return is fixed by the paytable printed on its glass. The same game with a worse paytable can quietly cost you 1–2% on every hand. Learn to read the full-house / flush payouts before you sit down — that is the “9/6”.

8/6
98.39%
Very common on the Strip
Full house cut to 8. Return drops ~1.15%, but the correct play is virtually identical to 9/6.
9/5
98.45%
Common
Flush cut to 5. Flushes and 3-to-a-flush draws are worth less — a few borderline flush-draw holds flip.
8/5
97.30%
Common off-Strip — avoid
Both full house and flush reduced. Noticeably worse return; strategy shifts slightly away from flush draws.
10/7 DB
100.17%
Full-pay — player edge
The famous over-100% machine. Four aces pay 160, but two pair only pays 1 — you break full houses to chase aces and draw to straights you'd never touch in Jacks or Better.
