TERMS WORTH KNOWING
High card — a Jack, Queen, King, or Ace. Pairs of these pay, so they are kept more often.
Outside straight — open on both ends and completable two ways, e.g. 7-8-9-10.
Inside straight — a gap in the middle, e.g. 6-7-9-10. A-2-3-4 and J-Q-K-A count as inside too.
